Battery Burglar Caught by Sonitrol Pacific Monitored Video

Mount Vernon, WA, August 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Detections by an integrated security system monitored by a Sonitrol Pacific operator allowed police to arrest one person suspected of trying to steal batteries from all terrain vehicles in the yard of a Washington dealership August 21.

Just after 1:00 a.m., Operator Minta Christopherson received the activation of a security sensor on a gate at Skagit Valley Polaris. She viewed activity outside the dealership with Video Alarm Monitoring (VAM) and saw a man dressed in a dark shirt and light pants walking around the all terrain vehicles (ATV) inside the fenced yard.

Christopherson called police and kept them informed of the man’s movement through the yard while officers were en route. The suspect hopped the fence just as police arrived and Christopherson let them know which direction he took. The suspect was taken into custody.

According to the police investigation, the man planned to take batteries from ATVs inside the dealership’s yard. Sonitrol Pacific’s perimeter security integrated with VAM, monitored by an expert brought an abrupt end to the battery harvest.
