Sonitrol Pacific Integrated Security Leads Police to Wanted Man

Portland, OR, August 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A Sonitrol Pacific detection of activity outside a secured building allowed police to locate and arrest a man with multiple outstanding warrants January 16.

Operator Minta Christopherson received an alert from an overhead door sensor at WW Metal Fab and listened to real-time audio streaming from the business. She heard a man’s voice and called police.

Officers investigated and found the building locked with no signs of a break-in. However, since Christopherson heard someone talking, they expanded the search. Police located a man between the business and a set of nearby railroad tracks.

An ID check of the man uncovered several outstanding warrants. The man resisted arrest and subduing him required multiple officers and a taser.

Security video from the business showed the man and a woman playfully shoving each other around. At one point, the man gives the woman a harder shove and she falls against a roll-up door, activating the Sonitrol Pacific security system. The woman walks away to sit for a minute, then the two walk out of camera view together. The woman wasn’t in the area when police arrived.
