The Faire is a combination of craft fair, food & drink, historical reenactment performances and a costume party. Hollister, CA, June 23, 2005 --(PR.com)-- This Fall, men, women, and children will engage in an exciting first hand renewal of art, culture, and history of an English Village as Play Faire Productions hosts the Northern California Renaissance Faire at Casa de Fruta. Beginning September 10 until October 16, men and women will travel back as early as the 1490s to 1630s to a village straight out of Renaissance Europe. Themes such as Romance & Revelry, Pirate Invasion, and Lord/Lady Mayors’ Day at Court will set a new mood and experience every weekend. It is an adventure that will stretch ones imagination marked with romance, song, dance, fantasy, myth, food, art and learning.

Saucy wenches and dashing rogues will encourage guests to exercise their freedom to flirt and frolic as gossiping washerwomen, swashbuckling swordfighters, bellowing town criers, and intoxicating music of the streets transport guests to another time and place to bring the magical Renaissance village to life. Play Faire Productions’ talented cast of diverse character actors will act out swordfights, street improvisation, and play music from times of the beloved Queen Elizabeth I and her beautiful court. Try some good old English ale, gnaw on a turkey leg, test your skills in archery, or shop for crafts in the Faire’s Marketplace and take home age old crafts and collectables with over 135 craftspeople and artisans to choose from.

The Renaissance Faire is an interactive adventure for the whole family. Play Faire Productions’ experienced artisans specialize in theatrical reenactment and provide a fun, educational day, far away from modern day living. Guests will find themselves walking through time, experiencing history first hand. So come for the entertainment and stay for the experience.

2005 marks the return of Play Faire Productions, a group of entertainers and artisans, many who have been participating in the Northern California Renaissance Faire production for as long as 35 years under various owners and managers. Having taken over the management as a collective last year, Play Faire Productions have once again organized this year’s Renaissance Faire at Casa de Fruta. Due to their passion for the Renaissance period, the organization became dedicated to restoring the Faire to its original roots; ‘from ashes to faire’ has become more than a tag line.

“Many at Play Faire have enjoyed acting or participating in the Renaissance Faire for years. We are excited to organize the event this year and welcome new talent and artisans while bringing back some of the old magic,” said Michael Gardner of Play Faire Productions.
