Aliso Viejo, CA, October 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- University of California, Irvine and the Center for Real Estate is hosting its tri-annual Breakfast Series at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, California. Today's event features a panel tasked with decoding the commercial mortgage backed securities market. Decoding CMBS : A Primer for Borrowers and Buyers focuses on how loan sales and workout strategies will be different than with other lenders and how to work-out existing loans, and how to make deals or save deals.

The Breakfast Series features panels of experts discussing and debating major issues of current interest to the real estate community. The experts on the Decoding CMBS panel include Warren de Haan, Partner at Coastal Capital Partners, Thomas Nolan, Senior Managing Director at CWCapital Investments LLC, Richard Ormond Shareholder of Buchalter Nemer, and Gregg Williams Principal and Receiver at CWP Advisors. The panelists represent a diverse cross-section of investment advisory, CMBS servicing legal, and receivership professionals.

University of California, Irvine invited CWP Advisors to participate in Decoding CMBS and provide insight on how receivership is being used to facilitate work-out, recovery and disposition efforts. Mr. Williams will address specific topics including procedures for installing a receiver, the ability for a receiver to sell real property or facilitate the sale of a note and the affects of bankruptcy that occur before and after the receiver is installed. The panel will also have a brief discussion of the U.S. Treasury's TALF program and how it affects the CMBS market.
