Fox College Sports To Televise 2005 Fun In The Sun Shootout

The Best All Inclusive Basketball Event for College & Universities in D-I. Four Teams Set for Holiday 2005 Women’s Division I Event.

Bethany, OK, June 29, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Fox College Sports, the nation’s leading provider of televised collegiate sports events, has reached an agreement to televise two games from the 2005 FUN IN THE SUN SHOOTOUT, one of the nation’s prominent early season women’s college basketball tournaments. FCS will televise live the championship game (9:00 PM ET), preceded by the runner-up contest (6:30 PM ET), on Monday, Dec. 19, from Municipal Auditorium in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

The 2005 FUN IN THE SUN SHOOTOUT features four outstanding women’s college basketball programs, highlighted by the 2005 WNIT champion Southwest Missouri State University Lady Bears, along with the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts University, a 2005 NCAA women’s basketball tournament participant, and defending Mid-Continent Conference champions. Joining SWMS and ORU will be the Horizon League’s University of Illinois at Chicago Flames and Mount St. Mary’s University of the Northeast Conference.

The 2005 FUN IN THE SUN SHOOTOUT takes place December 17-21 less than 100 yards from the magnificent beaches and crystal clear waters of the Maya Riviera Mexico. The Fun in the Sun Shootout tournament long ago became one of college basketball’s premier tournament destinations, and is the sport’s only all-inclusive event.
