Executives and Managers Learn How to Tame the Invisible Chaos During Career Transition

Professional coach Hueina Su of Denville, NJ-based Beyond Horizon Coaching shares with dozens of executives and managers in career transition how to maneuver the invisible chaos in challenging times..

Denville, NJ, October 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- It’s not surprising news anymore. The current recession has proven to be the worst in a long time. It was evidenced by the highest unemployment rate in 26 years based on job data released by the government earlier this month. This cycle of economic downturn has cost many people’s jobs.

Being out of job has become the leading cause of stress. Those people who survive job cut and stay on the job have to share more responsibilities and burdens. They feel a different kind of stress. The resulting financial problems and lack of consumer purchasing power have far-reaching ripple effects on the economic recovery.

Addressing to a group of executives and managers in career transition, stress management expert Hueina Su, MS, BSN, CEC, shared tips and strategies on how to maneuver in this challenging time. Through interaction and exercises, the executives identified their own invisible chaos and learned specific strategies to remain peaceful, calm and confident while under stress.

“When it comes to stress, most people focus on the external stressors such as stress on the job. While it is important to learn how to manage the external sources of stress, it’s even more important to address the underlying, invisible root cause of stress. The single most important reason why most people never overcome their stress is that they fail to address the underlying root cause of their stress,” says Su, a professional keynote speaker, certified coach, and the author of Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul: 7 Keys to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others.

Su says, most conventional stress management techniques are important and beneficial, but they often provide temporary relief for the symptoms of stress, not the root cause of the stress. For example, yoga, massage, meditation are feel-good techniques. But stress will come back within an hour or two if the root cause of stress isn’t addressed.

“This is why I say that conventional stress management alone does not work. There are other forces that affect your level of stress, and in many cases, these invisible forces are the root cause of your stress. I call these forces the invisible chaos,” Su says. “They are invisible like electricity, but you can experience their effects. You have to learn how to tame your invisible chaos. Otherwise, you won’t have long-lasting stress relief.”

Su adds that in a recent study, 71.7% people said their stress management methods are somewhat effective but only provide temporary relief. “It’s worth noting that 13.2% said their methods are not effective at all and even cause more problems for them,” Su says.

Su offers a unique “3-R Process” to address the negative effects of these invisible chaos. The first “R” is “Recognize” meaning to identify one or more of these invisible chaos. “If you are not aware of the problem, you cannot find the solution,” Su says.

The second “R” is “Release” and it’s about reframing perspective, releasing the negative emotions, letting go and clearing negative energy.

“The last “R” is “Reclaim” where we reclaim and reconnect with our inner essence, who we truly are, in order to have true inner peace and long-lasting freedom from stress,” Su says. “What we need to reclaim is what I call My Inner Essence including five elements: My Inner Balance, My Inner Beauty, My Inner Wisdom, My Inner Purpose, and My Inner Power.”
