Mr. Salem works within the Global Issuer Services sector responsible for new business development, specializing in Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) for Issuers from the Middle East/Gulf region. As the Head of Depositary Receipts, he helped numerous companies and financial institutions from the Middle East and Africa structure and execute IPOs, secondary offerings, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions involving GDRs. Mr. Salem also played an integral role in the development of Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX), pioneering the DR structure for DIFX listings and capital raisings, and executing the first ever IPO on DIFX in September 2005. Mr. Salem was responsible for implementing many complex IPOs and secondary offerings in the region, including Investcom, Telecom Egypt, Bank Muscat, and BLOM. He has also completed NYSE and NASDAQ listings for a number of foreign Issuers including Anglogold, Harmony, Sasol, and Sappi. Furthermore, he helped structure some of the largest acquisitions in region, including MTN’s acquisition of Investcom and Weather Capital’s acquisition of Wind in Italy. Mr. Salem received his BA and MBA degrees from Rutgers University.
