ActionCOACH Unites with United Way for Coaching for a Cause

ActionCOACH Business Coach David Brincks and Camp Mary Orton are working with one another to leverage the camp and Coaching for a Cause’s visibility.

Las Vegas, NV, October 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Camp Mary Orton in Columbus, Ohio, has helped thousands of teams experience change and growth through adventure activities.

It’s been so successful that organizations ranging from schools to corporate executives have utilized camp activities to build teams and increase their overall level of operations.

The team-building activities, including ground initiatives, a high ropes course, and adventure elements are custom-designed to meet the needs of any group.

As with many organizations however, the current economic conditions have made it hard for the camp’s finances and fundraising.

Charities rely on donations from the community; however, with the current economic crunch, donations aren’t as forthcoming as they might have been a few years ago.

After meeting executives at Camp Mary Orton through a client who attended his 6 Steps workshop, ActionCOACH Business Coach David Brincks wanted to help the camp’s cause.

“They serve underprivileged youth in the inner city of Columbus and provide them with summer camps and outdoor activities they would otherwise not have access to,” he said. “It’s very important they stay around.”

Camp Director, Marci Ryan believes Brincks and the ActionCOACH team have been invaluable to their organization.

“He has helped me focus on the development of our business and continues to challenge me with new ideas and methods of marketing our unique services,” Ryan said. “In addition, he has worked with our Board of Directors to motivate and focus their efforts. Dave's willingness to donate his time and talent could not have come at a better time for our organization.”

Brincks is hopeful that his 4 hours per month of coaching will help Camp Mary Orton streamline systems and overcome current financial challenges so the camp can prosper for years to come.

“I am very supportive of Camp Mary Orton,” he said. “Many of us have been coaching charities, and this makes sense to harness the collective power of such giving and investment in worthwhile causes.”
