There’s power in numbers. That is the principle the National Association of Installing Partners (NAIP), Massapequa, N.Y., was formed on. By forming a national cooperative of thousands of members, NAIP created the ability to negotiate the best prices and services from advertisers, distributors, finance companies and sales lead providers for its members - the smaller integrators and installers of low voltage products.

“We focus on the smaller players in the industry who need the services we provide a lot more than the larger, more established companies,” Zsolt Sapy, vice president of sales for NAIP, said. “We’ve seen what the economy has been doing to the industry, and if we can help companies not only stay in business but grow their business we’ll have a lifetime member and succeed in our mission.”

The mission is simple. To help members increase profits by providing services, which not only save them money, but also help them create new business.

Two examples of discounts NAIP offers to its members are the relationships it formed with Northern Video Systems and with Vision Monitoring. Northern Video offers NAIP members special discounted pricing on the products they distribute nationwide. Vision Monitoring, the wholesale arm of World Wide Security is a UL-listed central station with roughly 18,000 accounts, agreed to offer NAIP members very significant savings on their wholesale monitoring costs.

Membership is offered to installation & service professionals who sell and install cctv, alarm, home automation, access control, structured cabling and fire/safety products.

In addition to providing low voltage professionals access to the NAIP’s tools and services like access to equipment financing, marketing tools, lead generation services and so forth, the NAIP’s Web site also offers a national directory as well as bid request form a consumer can submit to have a local member bid on their project.

“The name pretty much describes who we are, but another reason we formed the NAIP was to have the ability to offer consumers a one-stop shop for all of their low voltage needs,” Sapy said. “The Web site not only a resource for members, but it is a resource for consumers interested in purchasing the products and services our members provide.” For information visit www.installingpartners.com. – By Heather Klotz, Associate Editor
