New Board for International Feng Shui Guild - Members Complete Their Selections for the New 2009-2011 ISFG Board

After extensive summer 2009 interviews, the ISFG Nominating committee established a slate of candidates for election to the Board. Red Ribbon Professional and Professional members voted on the slate and overwhelming approved the slate. This year’s election is important as it establishes a stagger of board positions to ensure we always have major positions represented by senior board members – good for consistency, transition, and continuity. Elections will be held annually.

Lee's Summit, MO, November 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The International Feng Shui Guild – IFSG announced today its new board of directors.

All Professional and Red Ribbon Professional members were invited to submit their applications for the 2009-2011 IFSG Board to the Nominating Committee during May 2009. The committee reviewed all applications and conducted interviews with each applicant. Based on candidates' qualifications and open board positions, the nominating committee established a slate of candidates for election. Each candidate's final working position will be finalized by the board.

“As a way to ensure continuity and a consistent direction for our organization, we have established staggered board terms,” says Laurie Bornstein, IFSG CEO. “The initial stagger includes several interim positions, and the interim time frame establishes the stagger. In this plan, we always have major positions represented by senior board members - good for consistency, transition, and continuity. Nominations and elections will occur each year to retain the stagger, with the stagger fully established after the 2010 election. Other than these interim positions, according to our Organizational Bylaws, the board consists of up to 12 members, and terms are held for 2 years.”

Laurie Bornstein, was re-appointed CEO of the IFSG by the Board of Directors. Laurie has served as CEO of the IFSG from 2007–2009, as Education Director from 2005-2009, and she is one of the founding members of the IFSG Education Committee and of the IFSG Heartland (Kansas City) Chapter. Rosalie Prinzivalli was re-elected and named Board Chair of the IFSG – responsible for leading the Board and has served at the national level since 2005 as IFSG Membership Director, co-author of the IFSG Glossary, and Board Chair for two terms from 2006-2007 and 2008-2009.
