Learn.com to Help U.S. Veterans Reenter the Workforce by Providing Free Job Training

Learn.com®, the leader in cloud delivered workforce development and productivity, announced today that the company is committed to reskill and retool the returning U.S. Veterans as they reenter the workforce or return to a previous position. This commitment is affirmed by the company’s new U.S. Veteran Workforce Readiness Program.

Sunrise, FL, November 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Under the terms of the new program, any U.S. Veteran returning from overseas deployment will receive free training on the job profile of their choice by completing the registration process on the company’s Personal Edition website at http://my.learn.com/vets.

According to Operation Legacy and Military Connection there are over 180,000 service men and women moving from military life to civilian life entering the workforce every year, and there are three times more unemployed veterans between the ages of 20-24 than the national unemployment average for that age range. To help with this transition, the Learn.com U.S. Veterans Workforce Readiness Program will provide the much needed job, soft skill, and computer training to better prepare the returning service men and women for long fulfilling careers. Once training is completed, on the Job Profile of their choice, Veterans will receive a Skill Score, which reflects their understanding of the material and lets employers know, beyond the resume, that they are job-ready on day one.

Veterans are encouraged to get more information about the program and to register at http://my.learn.com/vets. DD214 numbers are required for verification purposes. Veterans will receive free access to training for one of the 20 job profiles available on the Learn.com Personal Edition Website. After submitting registration, information will be verified and Veterans will receive a welcome e-mail with credentials to access the Website.

“Getting reacclimated for a previously held position or entering the workforce for the first time, U.S. Veterans should be given every advantage because of the personal commitment and sacrifice that they have made for our country,” said Jim Riley President and CEO at Learn.com. “I served in the military as did other members our senior management team. That’s why we are committed to providing returning service members with the tools needed to make a smooth transition to the civilian U.S. workforce when they leave the military.”
