Kansas City, MO, December 24, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- The National Portable Storage Association (NPSA), a nonprofit membership association dedicated to the advancement of the portable storage industry, is highlighting the creative uses of portable storage this winter.
In the second installment, the NPSA looks at Cove Park, a center for established artists located on the west coast of Scotland. Cove Park is located on 50 acres of beautiful countryside. Since 2000, Cove Park has provided living space for more than 500 artists.
Completed in 2002 by Container City, the Cove Park project includes three en-suite accommodation units known as cubes. The cubes serve as artist retreats. Architect/Developer cubes used six containers to create three units that blend into the rural surroundings. USM used sliding glass doors to open a way to a decked balcony that offers views of Loch Long lake. Circular windows also offer a view of the green lush landscape.
"The project at Cove Park is brilliant. It transforms green, steel portable storage containers into livable structures where artists are free to be creative," said John Finnessy, CMP, Executive NPSA. "Cove Park is environmentally friendly and provides a tranquil getaway in a beautiful location. It's just one more example of what's possible with recycled portable storage units."
