New Educational Magnets Make It Easier for Preschoolers to Learn their Letters

Parents and teachers now have an easy, innovative way to help children learn the alphabet, thanks to two new educational tools by Eager Mind.

Round Rock, TX, July 08, 2005 --(PR.com)-- The new products consist of an uppercase and lowercase set of phonic letter magnets that are uniquely designed to help children develop letter recognition and phonic reading skills. Each flash-card-style magnet displays a letter above a picture, both of which share the same beginning sound. At approx. 1 by 2 inches, the magnets are about the same size as one quarter of the business card magnets people often have on their refrigerators. This makes them easy for little fingers to grasp, hold and move around.

“Children love to learn and our products are compatible with every learning style,” said Sally Hanan, owner of Eager Mind. “Both products work beautifully with the Word Study program widely used by educators all over the United States.”

Parents, home schooling moms and teachers appreciate the value of having learning manipulatives like these, as they appeal to all four learning styles, Hanan added. So far, the company has received overwhelmingly positive response to the product.

Eager Mind was established June 2004 after Hanan’s sister, Lynn Nalty — a talented freelance graphic artist who lives in Ireland—designed the magnets to help her daughter learn her letters. “She sent me a set, and I immediately knew that I needed to make them available in the U.S.,” Hanan said.

Recently, Eager Mind opened an online retail center in Ireland and is planning on having wholesale capabilities available there in the near future. The company also sells products online through U.S. websites like www.sensoryedge.com and www.timestales.com
