The Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston and South Texas Names Ron McMillan Chairman for 2010

Houston, TX, January 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston and South Texas has named Ron McMillan Chairman for 2010. McMillan, the Vice President of Government Affairs for Time Warner Cable’s Texas Region, has previously served on the BBB Executive Committee.

McMillan is an active member of the Houston community and has been involved with numerous charitable and civic groups throughout the city. He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Houston Museum of Natural Science for 2002 and served on the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Texas Gulf Coast, Inc., where he is past chairman of the board. He has served on the Board of Trees for Houston and is past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Texas Cable &Telecommunications Association.

A native of Brownwood, Texas, McMillan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Howard-Payne University where he was recognized as Alumni of the Year in 2002. He also did graduate work at East Texas State University and Stanford University. Ron and his wife, Sally, have two sons and reside in Houston.

The Better Business Bureau is a non-profit organization funded by dues from accredited member companies. BBB accredited businesses must adhere to strict guidelines and settle disputes in a fair and efficient manner. The BBB issues reports about companies to the public on both accredited and non-accredited businesses in English and Spanish, and works closely with the media to alert the public about the latest scams affecting the marketplace. In addition, Bureau staff cooperates extensively with local, state and federal law enforcement to eradicate fraud.
