Businesses Donate Organizing Services to Local High School for Get Organized GO Month

Tampa, FL, January 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The owners of Office Assistance Plus and The Organizing Queen announced today that they have selected Land O’ Lakes High School (LOLHS) as the recipient of free organizing services from their companies for Get Organized (GO) Month. January is designated as “GO” Month by NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers) to raise the awareness of the benefits of getting organized and of hiring a professional organizer.

Office Assistance Plus specializes in office organizing for businesses to improve workflow while The Organizing Queen specializes in residential organizing to simplify clients’ lives. Both companies wanted to give back to the community during GO Month and initiated a search to find a local group or program in the community that needed help with organizing but wasn’t able to hire a professional organizer due to limited resources. They learned from Robin Powell, a professional organizer with The Organizing Queen and a Land O’ Lakes High School alumni, that the school stores and distributes supplies donated to the ABC Program, a charitable program for students in need. Money and supplies are donated to this program and used as needed for students and their families. “Many of the recipient’s families are struggling financially or are homeless”, said Jann McHollan, ABC Program Manager. “The nice thing about this program is that 100% of the money and supplies donated go directly to Land O’ Lakes High School students”.

The project, scheduled for January 28 and 29, 2010, involves sorting and organizing the donated school supplies as well as setting up a functional storeroom so supplies are easy to access for students and faculty. This project is a no-cost project for the program. “We are good at repurposing storage units and on-hand items and we are happy to donate bins and other organizing supplies needed to complete the job”, said Betty Arnold, owner of The Organizing Queen. “We also offered to help the program manager implement a simple inventory system”, said Lisa Assetta, owner of Office Assistance Plus. “With a tracking system in place, they will always know what supplies are on hand or have been depleted which is especially important when they prepare for the back to school season”.

The companies are pleased to help a school in the Tampa Bay community create an efficient and easy-to-maintain storeroom that accommodates donated supplies for this valuable program. “I’m excited and grateful” said McHollan at the completion of her project assessment meeting with Assetta and Arnold, “By helping us organize our storeroom you’re helping our kids”.
