ActionCOACH Ranks in the Top Ten in Corridor’s Book of Lists in Iowa

Four ActionCOACH firms in Eastern Iowa ranked 1, 2, 3 and 9 in Corridor Business Journal’s Book of Lists for the Executive Coaching category.

Las Vegas, NV, January 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- ActionCOACH firm owner and Master Licensee David Drewelow proudly announced that four local ActionCOACH firms ranked in the top ten of the Corridors Business Journal’s Book of Lists for 2010; the ActionCOACH firms ranked 1,2,3 and 9. The Journal is a well-known Eastern Iowa business publication based in Coralville, IA.

Rankings are based on several criteria, including size of the firm, number of employees, number of owners, and the length of time a firm has been in existence. For the past six years, ActionCOACH ranked under the “consultants” category; however two years ago, the Journal created a new category, “executive coaching” because of the increase in life, performance, executive and business coaching firms in the area. Last year ActionCOACH was listed as only one firm and received the No. 1 ranking, but this year, they were listed as four firms because they now have four ActionCOACH franchisees in the Eastern Iowa market.

“We’ve gotten a lot of recognition and publicity,” Drewelow said. “Clearly more people are doing coaching in this market, which inspired the new category. That is more fitting since we’re not really consultants, we are business coaches.”

In addition to the top 10 rankings in the Book of Lists, Drewelow was featured in The Edge Business magazine, a prominent business magazine in Cedar Rapids, IA. His work specifically was highlighted for coaching a local manufacturer, Marion Mixers, through the recession.

“Doug (Grunder, president of Marion Mixers) approached me after a ProfitCLUB meeting last October,” Drewelow said. “He had just laid off six people because of the recession and his business was down 40 percent. With business slower he told me he would have more time to work on his business and wanted to restructure things so they would be better prepared to come out of the recession.”

“I have seen a lot of business owners stick their head in the sand during this recession,” said Drewelow. “With Doug, he wanted to be proactive to make his business better. Business owners who see the value of coaching during tough times are really motivated to make changes and that is great!”

Drewelow helped Grunder in a number of areas including his short and long term planning process, team training and in restructuring the business to put a new management team in place. “The slow time in Doug’s business enabled him to step back and change things for the better,” Drewelow said. “He probably wouldn’t have been able to do any of that if it was regular business as usual.”
