ProVia Door Earns 5th Consecutive ENERGY STAR® Award for Door Manufacturing

Sugarcreek, OH, March 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Today, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that ProVia Door has once again earned the ENERGY STAR® Sustained Excellence Award for Door Manufacturing. This is the 5th consecutive year for ProVia Door to earn this prestigious Partner of the Year award. ProVia Door’s accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 18, 2010.

As American homeowners continue to feel the impact of rising energy costs, it is more critical than ever for companies to meet the standards the EPA has set forth in the ENERGY STAR program. ProVia Door has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2002, and continually seeks innovative ways of maximizing energy efficiency in their professional-class entry door systems.

Homeowners purchasing entry doors need to be educated that all doors do not perform equally. It is often the small, hidden details of a door that make the biggest differences. ProVia Door’s engineers continually use technology to discover innovative ways of improving thermal performance.

Believing that homeowners deserve the most energy efficient products available, ProVia Door made the decision several years ago to discontinue numerous door styles and product options that were less energy efficient. As consumer demand continues to shift toward ENERGY STAR doors, this decision has paid off for ProVia Door, their dealers, and homeowners.

Innovations that contribute to ProVia Door earning the ENERGY STAR award include:

ComforTech™ Warm Edge Glazing Systems which are produced by ProVia Door are built using one of the most efficient spacer systems available, SuperSpacer, and are available with low-e glass, argon & krypton gas. These glass units can incorporate decorative glass enhancements such as ProVia’s exclusive Inspirations™ Art Glass collection.

Every portion of the weather-stripping around ProVia Doors is meticulously engineered. From the perimeter seal, to the corner seal, to the door sweep, ProVia Doors are designed to withstand the harshest elements.

The construction of the door itself is vital in achieving long-term energy efficiency. Signet® fiberglass doors are built using more rigid hardwood frames that are fabricated using furniture-quality dovetail joints, resulting in a door that is warranted to not warp, crack or peel for a lifetime. Steel doors are built on the company’s new highly-calibrated automated door line for a perfect fit every time. These professional-class fiberglass and steel doors are factory-built to custom fit the home’s exact opening size, as opposed to consumer grade doors which often need to be modified at the jobsite.

In 2009, ProVia Door offered 1,449 different ENERGY STAR qualified door models allowing homeowners to pick the exact style of door that’s perfect for their home while maintaining the ultimate in thermal efficiency. These styles include the company’s new Signet fiberglass doors which provide an authentic Cherry, Mahogany or Oak wood-door appearance without the inefficiencies of a real wood door.

In addition to manufacturing ENERGY STAR qualified doors, ProVia Door is on the forefront of marketing the ENERGY STAR program. ProVia Door creates awareness through an intense training program. In 2009, this initiative resulted in 4,135 sales associates at 723 dealer locations being trained across the United States. These trained sales associates then take the ENERGY STAR message to homeowners. ProVia Door’s marketing brochures, website, product samples and TV commercials all proclaim the ENERGY STAR message so that the mindset of American homeowners continues to change towards environmental stewardship.

ProVia Door was started in 1977 in Sugarcreek, Ohio and is a manufacturer of professional-class residential entrance doors, patio doors, storm doors, replacement windows and storm windows.
