New Face in the Nostalgic Card & Gift Market

Bessie & Me launches new line of nostalgic image stationery and gifts.

Castro Valley, CA, July 27, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Bessie & Me has recently launched a line of stationery and gifts aimed at the nostalgic gift market. Although new to the industry, owner Michele deCesare is confident that her company is poised to stand out in the card & gift distribution market.

"I didn't realize until I began to market the note cards, just how popular nostalgia has become". Michele went on to say that "although the photos I use to create the designs are from my family's collection, nearly everyone who sees the note cards or, postcards or, journals, are reminded of someone in their own family".

Note cards, journals, bookmarks, and postcards are created using vintage photographs circa 1920 through the 1950's. The line has a wide appeal; most especially among women. While the focus is on the vintage look stationery line, the gift line is gaining monentum -- t-shirts, purses & totes, and special order items using the customer's own logo, photograph, or other artwork are proving to be popular as well.

The note cards and postcards are unique because of the care taken in choosing the photographs for the final image. With a keen sense of the necessity for emotional appeal, Michele realizes that "a picture of my mother would likely appeal only to my family, but when she is walking arm in arm with 3 girlfriends down a city street in 1932, it becomes a symbol of the friendship of any 4 women, living in any time or place."

Although distribution is currently limited to a few retail boutiques, and the Bessie & Me website, Michele is working to bring the line to a wider market.
