Red Cross Haiti Relief Efforts Benefit from Home-Tech Customer Purchases

Non-profit organization selected as “Charity of the Month.”

Fort Myers, FL, April 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Southwest Florida air-conditioning and appliance service and sales leader Home-Tech and its customers donated $611 to the American Red Cross recovery efforts in Haiti in February as part of the company’s Charity of the Month program.

“What happened in Haiti is a tragedy and impacts so many people” says Home-Tech President and Founder Steve Marino. “We’re proud to support the American Red Cross in their ongoing efforts to provide relief through this donation on behalf of our customers.”

Home-Tech’s Charity of the Month program donates a portion of the price of each new air conditioning unit sold to a different charity based in the areas it operates each month. Donations are made in customers’ names to thank them for their business, instead of sending corporate gifts. Since launching the program in August 2009, Home-Tech and its customers have given approximately $7,200 to local charities located from Sarasota to Naples in addition to the company’s ongoing charitable giving and sponsorship of local charity events.

The Ronald McDonald House Story Book Ball will benefit from March air conditioning system sales while a portion of April’s sales will be donated to the American Heart Association’s National Start! Walking Day.
