Atlantic City, NJ, April 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two K. Hovnanian communities were named as the best communities of their type in New Jersey by a panel of out-of-state builders at the New Jersey Builders Association’s annual 23rd Annual Sales and Marketing Awards.

The annual awards are the result of a months-long process during which out-of-state experts review a list of criteria and visit the candidate communities. The judges selected Bel Air at West Orange as the Community of the Year for an Attached Community Over $350,000 and K. Hovnanian’s Estates at Meadow Creek, Manalapan, as the Community of the Year of a Detached Community over $400,000.

K. Hovnanian’s 77 Hudson, the company’s world-class high-rise condominium community on the Hudson River in Jersey City, also won several awards.

“Our teams have worked very hard to be sure that Bel Air is terrific community,” said John Moorzitz, division president of K. Hovnanian Homes. Moorzitz oversees K. Hovnanian’s operations in Northern New Jersey. “We’ve focused on making sure the community is beautiful, the homes deliver value and our associates deliver great service. This award acknowledges the success of that effort.”

“K. Hovnanian’s Estates at Meadow Creek is a beautiful community of single-family homes with a clubhouse,” said Barry McCarron, K. Hovnanian’s division president for Central and South Jersey. “Our team members are very proud of the work we’re doing there, and this award shows that we’re doing a good job.”

“Tonight’s gala honors those whose creativity, dedication and professional accomplishments contribute so much to New Jersey’s housing industry,” said Michael Karmatz, president of NJBA.

Bel Air at West Orange, build by K. Hovnanian’s Matzel & Mumford Division, is a community of 250 luxurious townhomes situated on a picturesque hillside. The community offers five different floor plans with beautifully appointed interiors. There are still a few homes left starting in the $600s. Other homes also are available.

In addition to the Community of the Year, Bel Air won Best Interior Merchandising, Best Signage Program and Best Attached Home, all for an attached community over $350,000.

With 220 New Jersey Energy Star-certified homes, K. Hovnanian’s Estates at Meadow Creek offers elegant home designs, six different floor plans, and nice yards. In addition, homebuyers at Meadow Creek can take advantage of a resort-style clubhouse with an outdoor pool, fitness center, tennis and basketball courts as well as playgrounds for children. Pricing here starts in the high $400s.

In addition to the Community of the Year Award, Estates at Meadow Creek also was noted for Best Logo, Best Landscaping Design, Best Signage, Best Marketing Strategy and Best Single-Family Detached Home, all in the Detached Home over $400,000 category.

Both communities meet New Jersey Energy Star standards.

K. Hovnanian’s high-rise community in Jersey City, 77 Hudson, also won several awards, including Best Logo Design for a Mid-Rise/High Rise Community, Best Brochure for a Community over $550,000 and Best Color Newspaper Ad One-Quarter Page to One-Half Page.
