Xten Industries Gathers Team, Money for Cancer Research Walk. Team Members to Dress-Up as Pigs.

Local injection molding company sponsors a team in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Milwaukee on May 1.

Kenosha, WI, April 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Xten Industries, an award-winning plastic injection molder and contract manufacturer, will be supporting the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Milwaukee on May 1, 2010.

The 5k non-competitive walk is taking place at Discovery World in Milwaukee. In 2008, according to the American Cancer Society, nearly 600,000 walkers across the country raised more than $60 million through Making Strides events. The walk raises money to help educate people to live healthy and reduce their chance for breast cancer, helps to fund research and helps to fight laws to help women fight breast cancer.

Xten team, eXTENsions, has raised almost $1,000 through individual donations and ranked in the top 35 of the teams in the Milwaukee area. The 14 members of the eXTENsions team have also prepared a theme for the walk of “Cancer Stinks,” which will include posters, pig costumes and lots of pink.

“We’re really looking forward to the Making Strides walk,” stated Eric Heitmann, Xten’s Director of Quality. “A number of us have been affected, in some way, by cancer and we really want to help in any way we can.”
