Pharmacist Flip Flops To Help Patients

With every message we see today urging you to get on a medication to solve your problems this pharmacist takes a different, and atypical approach, that can not only save you money...but...maybe save your health. He has put his research online in an easy to read, straight forward style at www.vitamin-benefits-advisor.com that is free to anyone who would like to read it.

Joliet, MT, August 09, 2005 --(PR.com)-- When most people picture a pharmacist they see someone standing behind a counter and handing out pills.  Curtis Alexander, Pharm.D. has never liked stereotypes. He is on a one-pharmacist crusade to help patients get control of their health through free self-education that you’re not going to find at your neighborhood pharmacy.

Rather than just being a cynic of more natural therapies Dr. Alexander decided to investigate them based on their scientific merit after he became disheartened with traditional, prescription-based western medicine.  “Believe it or not,” Dr. Alexander states, “a lot of the old wives tales and home remedies actually do work.  Some better than what any pharmacy has on their shelf right now.  You just need to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff.”

Curtis Alexander, Pharm.D., editor of www.vitamin-benefits-advisor.com started the free website out of sheer desperation.  “It’s amazing”, he quipped “here we sit in the 21st century with more medical advances and pills than anyone could have imagined even thirty years ago but, as a whole, we’ve never been in poorer health,” Alexander said.

According to Alexander, patients have so many other options that they simply aren’t aware of.  “Drugs aren’t always the answer.  And for that matter neither are supplements.  But we have come to depend and believe in the ‘quick-fix’.  That’s the wrong way to go about it.  I’m just trying to help people understand that they have other options.  That all starts with self-education.”

According to Dr. Alexander patients can start getting control of their health by focusing on three pivotal areas:
 1. Watch what you put in your mouth.  “You almost have to think of your body like an automobile.  If you put bad fuel in your car is going to spit and sputter and chug along.  Your body is no different.”
 2. You must do something active everyday.  According to Dr. Alexander it doesn’t have to be anymore than 15 minutes a day, if you do it right.  “We’ve been trained in this country that unless you’re putting in a good hour a day of monotonous exercise you’re going to die young. Nothing could be further from the truth and the evidence is showing us that.”
 3. Consider supplementation.  As our food quality declines and we become farther and farther separated from our roots to the land we have to become very aware of where our food comes from and how it’s grown.  “Despite what skeptics say,” Dr. Alexander states, “Proper supplementation from reputable manufacturers is a way to bridge that gap and is probably some of the cheapest health insurance anyone can buy.”

Dr. Alexander vow’s to keep the articles on the website free so, in his words, “Everybody can improve their health.  It shouldn’t just be for people who have the money.”

Other areas the website covers are:

Vitamin E and why the experts may be dead wrong
The best exercises you can do in your home with no equipment and in 15 minutes a day
Why soy is about the farthest thing you can find from being a “health food”
Why some of the best scientific evidence has basically been forgotten for the last 50 years… and… how you can access it to get control of your health
