- Stangle-Castor received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Alfred University, and her Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Cancer Therapeutics from the Roswell Park division of the State University of New York at Buffalo.

- She actively volunteers for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, participating in the annual MS Walk, serving on the Women Against MS (WAMS) Leadership Luncheon Steering Committee, and acting as a grant reviewer for the society’s Fast Forward Initiative.

- Stangle-Castor is also an advisory board member for Alfred University’s Women’s Leadership Center, a program that offers the university’s female students the opportunity to explore and fulfill their leadership potential personally, professionally and in their communities.
