Schoppe, president of Fuentek, LLC (www.fuentek.com), has announced that Nannette Stangle-Castor, process director, has received the Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Leadership Award, which recognizes up-and-coming leaders under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the community. Award recipients are selected based on business accomplishments, community involvement and significant career milestones. Dr. Stangle-Castor received the award at the 40 Under 40 Awards gala on Friday, May 7 at the North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh.

- Stangle-Castor received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Alfred University, and her Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Cancer Therapeutics from the Roswell Park division of the State University of New York at Buffalo.
- She actively volunteers for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, participating in the annual MS Walk, serving on the Women Against MS (WAMS) Leadership Luncheon Steering Committee, and acting as a grant reviewer for the society’s Fast Forward Initiative.
- Stangle-Castor is also an advisory board member for Alfred University’s Women’s Leadership Center, a program that offers the university’s female students the opportunity to explore and fulfill their leadership potential personally, professionally and in their communities. By bringing powerful female role models to campus and fostering connections between female students and AU graduates, WLC creates leadership-building experiences both in and outside the classroom.
