Local Foundation Funds Hope Hospice's Two New Children's Bereavement Camps

Thanks to the McKenna Legacy Foundation, Hope Hospice is offering two new free camps to grieving children and teens in Comal and surrounding counties. Applications currently being accepted.

New Braunfels, TX, June 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- With the generous support of the McKenna Legacy Foundation, Hope Hospice is adding two new camps to its current Children’s Grief Program offerings. Both camps are free of charge to children and teens who have experienced the death of a loved one. Camp Courageous Summer is a day camp for kids ages 4 to 12 and will be held July 30 and August 1 from 9am to 4pm each day. Camp Courageous Teens is an overnight camp for teens ages 13 to 17 and will be held July 17 through 18 overnight. Campers are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis after it is determined that they are emotionally ready to participate in and benefit from camp. Priority will be given to kids and teens who have not yet attended Camp Courageous. Registration forms available at www.hopehospice.net.

All of Hope Hospice’s bereavement camps are designed to offer children, teens and families the opportunity to heal through the beauty of nature and the fun of a camp experience. They are staffed by Hope Hospice staff and specially trained volunteers from the community.

Hope Hospice provides excellence in care, comfort and education to all affected by life-limiting illness, grief and loss.
