Panda Kitchen and Bath and Whole Foods Markets, Inc. Partner to Sponsor 2010 Edition of South Florida Kitchen Makeover Contest

Miami, FL, June 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Panda Kitchen and Bath, a Miami, Florida-based home remodeling company specializing in the refurbishing and installation of kitchens, is pleased to announce that it has initiated the 2010 version of its annual South Florida Kitchen Makeover Contest. The contest began on June 14th and runs through August 8th, and is open to current residents of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties.

The South Florida Kitchen Makeover Contest rules require participants to submit an explanatory essay detailing their needs for a new kitchen, along with a photo of what the current cooking space in their home looks like. Photos and essays are uploaded through Panda Kitchen's official website, www.pandakitchen.com. Visitors to the website are then able to review each entry and vote for a particular participant as frequently as once per day.

Whole Foods Market, an Austin, Texas-headquartered grocery store chain with more than 270 locations in North America and the United Kingdom, is a featured co-sponsor of the 2010 South Florida Kitchen Makeover Contest. Whole Foods Market is widely considered to represent the industry standard in natural and organic foods, and is contributing an essential component to the contest's grand prize.

For the 2010 edition of the contest, Panda Kitchen is also making a monetary contribution of $1.00 to the Share Our Strength program for each of the first 5000 entries. Share Our Strength®, a national nonprofit, is ending childhood hunger in America by connecting children with the nutritious food they need to lead healthy, active lives. Through its No Kid Hungry™ campaign—a national effort to end childhood hunger in America by 2015—Share Our Strength ensures children in need are enrolled in effective federal nutrition programs, invests in community organizations fighting hunger, teaches families how to cook healthy meals on a budget, and builds public-private partnerships to end hunger, both nationally and at the state level. Working closely with the culinary industry and relying on the strength of its volunteers, Share Our Strength hosts innovative culinary fundraising events and develops pioneering cause marketing campaigns that support No Kid Hungry.

The grand prize winner of the South Florida Kitchen Makeover Contest will receive a full kitchen makeover from Panda Kitchen, along with a year's worth of free groceries from Whole Foods Market, which represents a combined value of over $14,000. Additionally, celebrity chefs Brian Aaron and Adrianne Calvo, two luminaries of the South Florida culinary world, will prepare a meal in the new kitchen of the grand prize winner when it has been finalized.

"I'm excited to be a part of what has annually proven to be a very dynamic and popular contest and I'm looking forward to whipping up something delicious in the kitchen of the grand prize winner!" commented Chef Brian Aaron.

"I've always been proud of my professional association with Panda Kitchen, and was more than happy to be a part of the Kitchen Makeover Contest when asked," remarked Chef Adrianne Calvo. "Any contest that culminates in someone being awarded a fabulous new space in which to prepare delicious dishes is one I want to be a part of!"

For Panda Kitchen and Bath, the South Florida Kitchen Makeover represents an opportunity for the renowned company to give something back to both its customer base and an all-important charity organization.

"At Panda Kitchen, we have always striven to provide our clients with the highest quality kitchen refurbishing and new kitchen installation services possible," commented Sean Huang, Vice President of Panda. "This contest gives us the opportunity to partner with Whole Foods Markets to reward someone with the gift of this experience free of charge, while simultaneously making contributions to an extremely worthwhile cause."
