Fire Squelched, Vandal Vanquished After Sonitrol Pacific Detection

Lakewood, WA, July 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A vandal suspected of breaking three windows and starting a fire at a school was caught after Sonitrol Pacific detected the threat and sent police to make an arrest.

Operator Ashley Sutton received an alert from the school’s security system just after 8:00 p.m. Sutton listened to audio sensors to learn what was happening live and heard sounds of glass breaking. She immediately called police.

Lakewood Police Officers were on scene in minutes of getting Sutton’s call. They caught one person suspected of breaking two large windows, one small window, and starting a fire using moss from the school’s roof.

The Lakewood Fire Department was also dispatched to put out the fire and confirm nothing else was burning.

The school district praised the response by Sutton, police and the firefighters.
