IPS Securex Announces the Appointment of Tay Hun Kiat as Vice President Asia Pacific

Singapore, Singapore, September 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- IPS Securex Pte Ltd, one of the South East Asia’s leading security systems integrators, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Tay Hun Kiat as Vice President Asia Pacific. He will be responsible for strategic marketing and business development of IPS Securex Pte Ltd business in Singapore and overseas.

Prior to joining IPS Securex, he was CEO (Infrastructure) of USEL Group in India from 2008 to 2010. He spearheaded the investment and development of New Kolkata International Development (NKID), a US$6b public-private-partnership project in West Bengal, and was responsible for a portfolio of real estate and industrial development in West Bengal and Gujarat.

Before joining USEL, he was with the Singapore’s Temasek Group of companies for 15 years. He held several senior management positions in real estate, infrastructure and engineering businesses in the Asia Pacific region. From 2003 to 2008, he was the President of Asia Pacific Operations in the ST Electronics Group. He achieved major business and financial growth in the Asia Pacific Region. He developed new business of transport and infrastructure IT in India, China and USA.

In December 1999, he was appointed the President of Chartered Electro-Optics, part of ST Electronics and led the company on a growth path and turned it profitable and solvent. During the SARs (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreak in 2003, Mr Tay led the company to jointly invent the world’s first Infrared Fever Screening System (IFss), which was deployed at all Singapore border check-points to screen people for fever.

Prior to 1999, Mr Tay was Vice-President of CapitaLand Limited, a US$20b real estate company, as well as Deputy Managing Director of Premas International Limited. He was responsible for South East Asia property investment and development and asset management of 6,000 residential houses and 6m sqft of office, retail and industrial properties in Singapore, China, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

From 1995 till 1997, he was the Senior Manager (Corporate Development) and Head of Investment (UK) of Keppel Land Group. He oversaw the UK property investment and development arm as well as development of the Group’s resort and club business in China and Indonesia.

During the period of 1979 to1995, Mr Tay served in various senior positions in the Singapore Ministry of Defence including a posting as Deputy Assistant Chief of General Staff (Operations Planning and Plans). He was responsible for the infrastructure and technology development of the Army.

Mr Tay graduated from the University of Oxford (UK) with a BA (Honours with Double First - Mathematics). He has also obtained an MSc (Distinction) in Operational Research from the Naval Postgraduate School (USA), an MA from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from the University of Hull (UK). He has completed the Program for Management Development (PMD) at Harvard Business School and is the recipient of the SAF (Overseas) Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Defence.
