Urban American Outdoors' Perspective Award Luncheon

Urban American Outdoor gave honor to Outdoor Professionals at Perspective Award Luncheon

Kansas City, MO, October 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Urban American Outdoors (UAO) had its “Perspective Award” during the luncheon of the Urban Outdoor Summit held at the Holiday Inn SE in Kansas City, Missouri; partnering host was the Kansas City Missouri Parks and Rec. The Perspective Award is an award given by UAO to celebrate the Outdoor Lifestyle and it's participants who believe that “Outdoors is for Everyone” and has worked passionately regardless of conventional thought to share this ideology.The luncheon event, as was the Summit was hosted by Roy Hobbs who did an excellent job of presenting along with Wayne Hubbard. The first award presented was the “Outdoors Industry Professional”. This award is for a person who has worked in the Outdoors Industry for countless dedicated years educating and sharing information with the public about our Natural Resources. This award was given to David Wyatt who had worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation as an Outdoor Specialist for over 30 plus years teaching and training the public. David Wyatt said,” Being involved with Urban American Outdoors has been such an opportunity. To receive precognition, during an event that itself deserved special recognition, for the commitment I have for sharing the outdoors with youth and the urban community, by an organization in the forefront of the outdoor urban media."

The next award presented was the “Pioneer Award.” This award is given to an individual who is a trailblazer and ground breaker living the Outdoor lifestyle. That award went to Arthur Bronson. Arthur Bronson, President of the International Fishermen Federation of Black Anglers (IFFBA). A very special award for the “Woman in the Outdoors” was awarded to Sabrina Thompson a woman who can fish with the best of them. She is a Pro Bass angler and is the Vice President of the IFFBA.The last award was the “Outdoors Advocate and Educator” which went to Mr. Carl Price Jr., President of FACTS Tutoring Services who has been educating the children in the Kansas City Missouri School District for over 30years. He specializes in teaching techniques in test taking. All the recipients were totally surprised at winning “The Perspective Award.” These awards were very important to be given to such a deserving group of people the overdue accolades for services they have passionately perform for years without any due recognition.
