Chilliwack, Canada, November 01, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- Smoother Transitions announced today that they will be officially launching and accepting new clients in the Chilliwack area on November 1, 2010, in honour of Family Caregivers Month and Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month.
Smoother Transitions is a new business in the Chilliwack area serving seniors and their families during one of their most difficult and confusing times. Through thoughtful planning and organization, careful attention to individual needs, and a thorough knowledge of the process of transitioning into care, their aim is to take the burden off of caregivers themselves.
By providing not only planning, organization, and a structured process (including strategies to minimize cost while maximizing care), but including counselling and emotional support from a certified counsellor and PhD, Smoother Transitions intends to make the process as stress-free and easy as possible.
“Most people in Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley area are waiting at least 6-12 months to get into care, and that is simply unacceptable,” says Darren Woodhouse, founder of Smoother Transitions. “Many people get lost in the system simply because they don’t know where to turn. That is where we come in. We’ve found that while many people can take up to a year to find care, we can shorten that time. Often, we can have someone placed in a facility in under 3 months – and at a lower cost than other alternatives. That is something that we feel will really help both seniors, and their caregivers.”
As part of their grand opening celebration, Smoother Transitions will be offering the first 5 clients a unique gift on moving day (worth over $200), and the first 10 individuals to call Smoother Transitions and book an in-home meeting will receive a $10 Tim Horton’s gift card.
