Bert Parlee, Ph.D. Named a Prinicipal with the Power of TED*

Bainbridge Island, WA, December 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bert Parlee, Ph.D., of Dallas, TX has been named a Principal within The Power of TED*, a division of the Bainbridge Leadership Center (BLC) of Bainbridge Island, WA. He is a licensed clinical psychologist, executive and personal life coach, organization development consultant, leadership trainer and mediator.

“We are delighted to formalize Bert’s long relationship with The Power of TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) and recognize the many contributions he has made to the spread of TED*. He was one of the original ‘early adopters’ and champions of our unique approach to helping people move beyond the dramas they face in their work and lives,” said David Emerald Womeldorff, co-founder of BLC and author of The Power of TED*.

Dr. Parlee first met David through their work with the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. He was one of the first to receive a copy The Power of TED* and to immediately recognize the value of the model. Dr. Parlee brought this breakthrough perspective of relationship roles and dynamics into the STAGEN Leadership Institute (Dallas, TX) training curriculum, where it has become one of the primary frameworks in working with business executives.

“From the outset, Bert partnered with David in delivering advanced TED* trainings to individuals who wanted to take their learning to the next level,” added Donna Zajonc, PCC, co-founder of BLC and director of coaching and practitioner services for The Power of TED*. “He brings a deep experiential learning expertise that serves to organically embody the TED* principles in others as they explore and apply the model in depth.”

Dr. Parlee is also a senior advisor, facilitator, mediator and executive coach with the Stagen Leadership Institute in Dallas, TX. He was a founding member and former chief of staff of Ken Wilber's Integral Institute in Colorado. Dr. Parlee has taught in the Mendoza College of Business’ Executive Education at the University of Notre Dame and in the MBA and Organizational Psychology programs at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Brunswick in 1977 and his MA is in contemplative psychotherapy from Naropa University, 1984. He completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, 1993.

As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Parlee has long been familiar with a wide range of models and approaches to understanding human and group behavior.

“After experiences with hundreds of learners, I know that the TED* system is immediately compelling to just about everybody who is exposed to it,” Dr. Parlee said. “The model’s ‘stickiness’ securely lands and brings value to individuals, teams, couples, families, teens – you name it.”

He added, “I have delivered leadership and other trainings throughout the US and around the world, introducing learners to an array of impactful mental models and learning processes. At the end of these trainings, be they a day-long, a week-long or an extended year-long engagement, when I ask people at the end of their learning what has been most significant and has afforded the highest value, the vast majority identify TED*. For me, the proof is in that pudding.”

Dr. Parlee concluded, “I am moved to partner with David and his wife Donna to serve as a formal champion and ambassador of the work in the role of Principal.”
