Professional leads communications, social media and advertising teams for photography developer, manufacturer.

Ronkonkoma, NY, January 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sigma Corporation of America (www.sigmaphoto.com), a leading researcher, developer, manufacturer and service provider of some of the world's most impressive lines of lenses, cameras and flashes, today announced the promotion of Christine Moossmann to director of marketing.

Moossmann joined the company, which is based in Japan and headquartered domestically in Long Island, NY, in December of 2008 as the American subsidiary’s marketing manager. As director of marketing, she will spearhead all of Sigma Corporation of America’s public relations, marketing, social media and advertising programs.

“Christine has been an invaluable addition to our team and we’re certain that her leadership and creativity will continue to enhance our communications with our partners, dealers and, most importantly, our consumers,” said Mark Amir-Hamzeh, general manager of Sigma Corporation of America. “In the two years that she has been leading our marketing and PR initiatives, I’m particularly impressed with her teams’ efforts to extend our reach on Twitter and Facebook, redesign our website, and develop the Sigma Corporation of America Scholarship Contest for young photographers.”

In addition to those major projects, Moossmann is responsible for managing the teams that communicate all of Sigma Corporation of America’s corporate and product news, administer the media/reviewer loan program, organize industry events and outreach, and select and schedule all advertising buys.

Moossmann has worked in the photo imaging industry for more than a decade and was previously employed by Olympus Corporation of the Americas as a member of its Consumer Products Group. She served that company for eight years and left as director of advertising. Moossmann has a Bachelor of Arts in English from State University of New York at Geneseo and a master’s degree in social work from Adelphi University on Long Island.
