The Board's distinguished members are from the information access and privacy community across Canada.

Calgary, Canada, April 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- CAPAPA (Canadian Association of Professional Access and Privacy Administrators), Canada’s leading association of privacy and access professionals, today announced the CAPAPA National Certification and Accreditation Advisory Board, a first of its kind in Canada.

“I am very pleased that this very experienced group of distinguished privacy and access experts from regions across Canada has stepped forward to provide their insight and expertise to CAPAPA to broaden and strengthen Canada’s premiere certification program for access and privacy professionals,” said Eric Lawton, Director of Professional Certification.

CAPAPA offers the only substantive certification program for access and privacy professionals in Canada. In addition to the Associate Access and Privacy Professional (AAPP) and the Certified Information Access and Privacy Professional (CIAPP) designations available since 2009, a senior designation, the Chartered Access and Privacy Professional (CAPP), will be introduced in Q4 2011.

The members of the CAPAPA National Certification and Accreditation Advisory Board will advise CAPAPA’s Board of Directors about the design and implementation of senior certification credentials under development, as well as other aspects of CAPAPA's Professional Certification and Accreditation Programs. Their input will also be instrumental in helping CAPAPA maintain conformity with the internationally-recognized requirements for certification bodies, which is a fundamental aspect of providing meaningful certification for access to information and privacy professionals in the private and public sectors throughout Canada.
