Women on the Verge on Blog Talk Radio May 18 - Hot Topic: Mothers

Women on the Verge founder Ana Lewis will host this month’s Blog Talk Radio hot topic discussion of “Mothers” on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Lewis and her on-air panel Dawn RiversBaker, Jessica Pieklo, Karen Monroy, Rebecca Rasmussen and Robbie Kaye will offer their thoughts and open the phone lines during this online radio show which begins at noon (EST).

Tucson, AZ, April 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Abolitionist, feminist and poet, Julia Ward Howe, is known as the founder of Mother’s Day. In 1870, Howe issued her Mother’s Day Proclamation for women to leave the care of hearth and home and attend an international "general congress" whose purpose she states is:

To promote the alliance of the different nationalities,
The amicable settlement of international questions,
The great and general interests of peace.

Thus, the original Mother's Day message urged women to put on hold their caring for hearth and home, husband and children, and to work instead on making the world a better, safer, more peaceful place.

Ana Lewis invites members to share their “Mother” stories on Blog Talk Radio and on the WOTV blog. Wherever you are in life, mothers have been a key ingredient in who you are and how you live. Lewis suggests that “by connecting in these ways, women can support each other in a way that leads to better health in mind, body and spirit.”

A recent addition to the blogs, videos, personal connections, and discussions on the Women on the Verge site is their bookstore, featuring books written by WOTV members.

Women on the Verge is a fresh, growing, free, global, online community of women (and a few men) encouraging and supporting each other to speak and let their voices be heard.
