New European-American Business Council Up; Stronger American Links with EU

The new formed United States-Romania Business Council (USROBC) aims to further strengthen trade and business ties between the United States and Romania.

Washington, DC, May 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- To further promote trade and business between the U.S. and the European Union, a new North American-European Business Council has been established under the auspices of American, Romanian and other European corporations and professional organizations.

Mr. David-Virgil Dafinoiu, the Chairman of the new international council, announced the council intentions of soon holding a trade exhibition in Bucharest, Romania as a part of its policy to expand United States’ trade with the European Union country. He pointed out that Romania, as a member of the European Union, which brings together 27 countries, and due to its geographical strategic location, is used as a commercial hub for a combined population of over 500 million people. "The easy access to these markets is an attraction for those looking to establish their business operations in Romania," David added.

Mrs. Luana Gagu, Second Secretary and Head of the Economic and Trade Office at the Romanian Embassy in the U.S., praised the initiative saying: "I am confident that the U.S. - Romania Business Council will work towards strengthening cooperation between its members and the business community in the United States and Romania.

"Romania is not only a trading hub in Europe but also a centre for the exhibition industry, hosting many international specialist and diversified exhibitions in Europe,” she added.

Mrs. Gagu also pointed out the advantages of the geographical location of her country to express how vital it is to extend its trade and business links with the U.S. "Romania is located on the Black sea and is served by the seaport of Constanta, located on the western coast of the Black Sea 332 km from the 'Bosphorus Strait' and 157 km from the 'Sulina Branch,' through which the Danube river flows into the sea. Goods travel by both road and railway to reach other European as well Russian Federation countries," she explained.
