Kala's Wine Bar to Open in Fort Lauderdale October 13
Fort Lauderdale, FL, September 30, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Fort Lauderdale denizens and visitors can now savor the delicious selections of Kala’s Wine Bar in their own neighborhood. Located two blocks north of Oakland Park Boulevard (3337 NE 33rd Street) - and just “sideways” - west of A1A, Kala’s is the ultimate destination for Internet Aficionados who happen to be lovers of fine wine, offering a selection of wines and beers from around the world, personally chosen by co-owners Kathleen “Kala” and Gunter Gies.

“We founded Kala’s on the premise that the enjoyment of wines and beers need not be expensive, nor pretentious,” says Gunter Gies. “We offer a diverse selection of fine wine and imported beers in a comfortable environment that is made even more enjoyable by our thoughtful, knowledgeable staff." Kala Gies adds, “Our primary objective was to offer a place for friends to gather, relax and celebrate life. We truly believe in ‘creating happiness beyond boundaries’ and enjoying each day to the fullest.”

Kala’s features a special wine flight tasting menu created by Kala and Kala’s marketing director, Leslie Patrick. “Kala’s is absolutely committed to having one of the most distinctive wine programs in Fort Lauderdale,” says Leslie. “We not only strive to offer unique wines that may not be easily available to our patrons, but to educate them as well. It’s our major point of differentiation from any of the other wine bars, and it’s certainly one of the keys to our success." In addition to its wines-by-the-glass program, Kala’s stocks an eclectic selection of Reserve wines of limited availability sold exclusively by the bottle from wine regions around the world, and offers new selections each month and during special events.

Kala’s has created an ambiance that combines the personal touches of the owners with wood, leather, warm lighting and music in an eclectic elegance — including hand-blown stemware, whimsical accouterments, wine-friendly appetizers and desserts and an attentive staff. Kala’s is perfect for those seeking a night out with the girls, an after-theater Port, coffee or dessert, or just a glass of wine at the end of the workday. With New Millennium’s wireless Internet access, it is also the perfect place to catch up on email or finish that proposal while relaxing with a favorite libation or espresso.

Kala’s and New Millennium are committed not only to serving the neighborhood but the community as well. In keeping with that spirit of service, all Internet access fees collected will be donated in their entirety to the Seafarer’s House in Fort Lauderdale in support of their continuing mission to improve the lives of seafarers and their families.

The approximately 1,600 square foot restaurant has a seating capacity for 43 guests, with additional patio seating for 20 guests. Kala’s is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 PM until 11 PM and Friday and Saturday from 4 PM until 12 Midnight. They are closed Sunday and Monday.
