Young Clement Rivers Lawyers Named in “SC Super Lawyers 2011”

Charleston, SC, June 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Carol B. Ervin and Shawn Daughtridge Wallace with Young Clement Rivers, LLP were named by “South Carolina Super Lawyers 2011” magazine as two of the top attorneys in the state for 2011.

Each year, the research team at Super Lawyers undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area and a good-standing and disciplinary check. Super Lawyers magazine features the list and profiles of selected attorneys and is distributed to attorneys in the state or region and the ABA-accredited law school libraries. Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in South Carolina receive this honor.

Shawn Daughtridge Wallace practices in employment and labor law, concentrating in corporate counseling, prevention and compliance, administrative representation, and state and federal litigation.

Wallace is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court in Employment and Labor Law and is a certified mediator. She has served on the Employment and Labor Law Specialization Advisory Board of the South Carolina Supreme Court; and currently serves as Vice President and Treasurer of the Charleston Executive Women's Board. Wallace is a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Awards in Property, Estate Planning, Business Corporations and Labor Law, Order of the Coif and Order of the Wig and Robe; and has been selected for Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in American Women and South Carolina Super Lawyers, 2009.

Active in the community, Wallace serves on the Charleston Executive Women’s Board, and has served on the Carolina Children’s Charity board, the Lowcountry Children’s Center Board of Directors, and the College of Charleston Center for Entrepreneurship Advisory Board.

Wallace graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, and the University of South Carolina School of Law, Columbia, SC.

Carol B. Ervin leads the Employment Law Practice Group at Young Clement Rivers, LLP. She is an experienced trial attorney and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and an Associate Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Ervin holds the highest professional rating (AV) in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

Ervin is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a specialist in employment and labor law and is a certified mediator. She is a past member of the American Law Firm Association (ALFA) Board of Directors, past chair of ALFA's Labor and Employment Practice Group, and an associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. She was selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (2008), in the specialty of Labor and Employment Law and is listed with South Carolina's Super Lawyers in Labor and Employment Law.

She holds memberships in South Carolina Board of Grievances and Discipline, was Past Chair of the Employment and Labor Practice Group of the American Law Firm Association, and served as President, and as a member of the Executive and Judicial Steering Committees of the Charleston County Bar Association.

Ervin graduated summa cum laude from the University of the South, Sewanee, TN, and received her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, Durham, NC.
