The Great American Train Company Receives Engineering Certification Under ASTM F-24

Miniature riding trains meet new international safety standards for amusement rides.

Plymouth, MN, June 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Miniature riding trains meet new international safety standards for amusement rides.

The Great American Train Company, LLC (GATC), a Minnesota-based manufacturer of backyard trains and accessories, today announced that it has received independent engineering certification under ASTM F-24 standards for its Pioneer Mogul Locomotive and passenger riding cars.

GATC trains, which are built to 1.5” scale and run on 7.5” gauge rail, have been designed for use in both backyard and commercial amusement ride applications. One locomotive can pull up to eight riding cars with two passengers in each car, making the train ideal for use at amusement parks, fairs, festivals, family entertainment centers and other indoor or outdoor locations.

“We’re pleased to have passed the very rigorous evaluations for obtaining engineering certification under ASTM F-24 standards,” said Mark D. Strobel, GATC’s National Sales Manager. “GATC trains have earned a strong reputation during the past four years for their advanced features, authentic design and rugged performance. Now, owners of our trains can also be confident that the trains meet the safety and design standards of a well-known and highly-respected international organization such as ASTM.”

GATC manufactures a full range of miniature trains and accessories, including locomotives, riding cars, rolling stock, signals, signs and lights, pre-assembled track sections and more.

The locomotive and integrated riding tender are battery-powered for safety, reliability, ease of operation and low maintenance. Battery power also allows operators to use the trains at indoor venues such as
shopping malls, church and school auditoriums, convention centers and more. All finishes are of the highest quality and include solid brass trim, cast-iron wheels, powder-coat painted steel and cast aluminum.
