Debra La Grone Joins Financial Aid Association as Training Specialist

New Staff Member Will Strengthen Training for Financial Aid Professionals

Washington, DC, June 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), a nonprofit, membership organization that represents nearly 20,000 financial aid professionals who administer aid to more than 16 million college students, is pleased to announce that Debra La Grone has been selected to serve as a training specialist. In this position, La Grone will serve as a primary trainer at regional and state association meetings, an instructor for on-line courses, and a presenter/moderator for webinars. She will also develop training resources and content to inform NASFAA members about the latest federal rules and regulations.

La Grone brings 20 years of financial aid experience to NASFAA, with more than 16 years at an assistant director level or higher. Most recently, La Grone served as director of financial aid and veteran services at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. She has also worked at Stephen F. Austin State University, The Education Resources Institute (TERI), Texas A&M University-College Station, and the University of Utah. In addition, La Grone has served as an institutional peer reviewer with NASFAA's Standards of Excellence program, working with a team to help schools comply with federal rules and regulations. She has also served on multiple NASFAA committees and state and regional association committees.

La Grone earned Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Utah and is working to complete a Master's degree in Business Administration.
