Paragon Software Group and Mobile TeleSystems Win Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award 2011

Accolade honors mobile service and billing innovation in creating MTS Mobile Portal single-point customer interface.

Freiburg, Germany, June 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Paragon Software Group, the leading developer of multi-platform software applications for mobiles and computers, and Mobile TeleSystems (“MTS” – NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile operator in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), were awarded for developments in wireless network infrastructure at the Global Telecoms Business (GTB) Innovation Awards 2011. At a ceremony held June 7, 2011, in London, the companies were honored for mobile service and billing innovation with the successful deployment of the MTS Mobile Portal, an easily accessible interface that allows MTS subscribers to manage applications and MTS services from a single point on their mobile devices.

The latest addition to Paragon Software’s line of services for wireless mobile carriers and developed exclusively for MTS, the Mobile Portal enables subscribers to independently manage their telecom settings, billing information and plan options at any time of day without the need to engage the MTS customer service helpline. In addition to billing and service information, MTS subscribers can also find games, screensavers, ringtones, weather forecasts, news, exchange rates and more through the Portal’s convenient, interactive menu system. The implementation of Mobile Portal has significantly decreased the volume of calls to MTS customer service, resulting in reduced infrastructure costs while increasing carrier revenue on VAS.

“Mobile Portal has been a win-win for both MTS and its customers,” says Olga Lonshakova, Director of Strategic Partnership, MTS Group. “Paragon was able to deliver value to our subscribers with a single-access point solution that allows self-management of available telecom services and the discovery of new mobile applications. Paragon implemented Portal seamlessly into our lineup of offerings available to MTS subscribers who operate a variety of mobile platforms, including those that are new to the market, allowing users of all platforms access to useful new applications and services.”

The GTB Innovation Awards were presented at a black-tie dinner in the ballroom of the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in central London. The Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards were established in 2007 to recognize innovative projects by service providers and technology suppliers in the global telecommunications industry.
