Laeken International is Slated to Kick Off Fixed Income Sales Unit Expansion in Australia

Laeken International, a successful commodity futures and brokerage trading firm is scheduled to commence expansion of its Fixed Income Division in Australia. The expansion plan kicked off with hiring of Mr. Christopher Shefford and Simon Wolf as High Yield and Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Directors, respectively.

“With our soon-to-be started Fixed Income Sales Unit in Australia with Christopher and Simon as the team’s key leaders, we are anticipating for more international sales units to be launched in the next coming years. We are expecting Christopher to bring us more depth to our high yield efforts across loans and bonds in Australia and will add to our allocation of newly issued product as we attempt to expand our capital markets capacities. In the same way, we are also expecting Simon to provide us with additional knowledge and expertise particularly on the Collateralized Mortgage Obligations trading, which will remain to be a crucial area for Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities financing as other resources continued to be controlled,” added Pacey.

Mr. Christopher Shefford joined Laeken International as the Sales team Director for High Yield Fixed Income. Prior to joining Laeken International, he spent seven years in high yield division of one of the internationally recognized asset management company. During his stint, he focused on bank debt and equity sales. Shefford has completed his political science degree from Villanova University and masters’ degree in Financial Management from Fordham University.

In 2005, Simon Wolf joined Laeken International as Senior Trading Analyst focused on the firms Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Sales Unit. He also worked for four years in a New York-based commodity futures firm where he focused on providing services related to RMBS sales. He also spent several years as a research analyst developing Collateralized Mortgage Obligations trading portfolio management models for International Asset Management Companies.
