Plum District to Raise Money for Global Education

Plum District will partner with World Vision to raise $22K during Back to School Week

San Francisco, CA, August 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Plum District, the San Francisco-based leading daily deals site for moms and families, will run a fundraiser starting on August 8 in partnership with World Vision. Plum District will match subscribers’ donations in order to raise $22,000 to build a school in conjunction with Plum District’s “Back to School Week.”

Subscriber gifts will be pooled to construct a school and/or renovate existing schools in one of hundreds of needy communities in which World Vision works. The project, as featured in World Vision’s Gift Catalog, will help provide a safe learning environment that can benefit hundreds or even thousands of children for years to come — and ultimately build a stronger community.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. The millions of people World Vision serves include earthquake and hurricane survivors, abandoned and exploited children, survivors of famine and civil war, refugees, and children and families in communities devastated by AIDS in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. World Vision’s work has earned the trust of more than 1 million donors; thousands of churches; and hundreds of corporations in the United States alone.
