Cebu, Philippines, August 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Astraqom revealed the new PinoyKubo social media platform this week and now the community's Inspirational Heroines and Heroes Project from among the famous and every day Filipina and Filipino heroes in The Philippines and around the world. They are showcased via the multi-media of video, audio, artwork, photography, and articles.

"Whether you are well-known internationally like Lica De Guzman, a popular singer or locally such as Albert Padin, the 20 something year old visionary who created the entire SpellDial system from scratch that enables users to dial each other by name instead of numbers, we deeply care to bring you deserved recognition and new opportunities to develop business and make friends everywhere via the PinoyKubo community and online platform. The 'You're an inspiration and PinoyKubo.com salutes _______' -- fill in the blank with your favorite local, national, or international inspiration -- campaign is our way of sharing pride in the accomplishments and examples of the young and not so young virtuosos and virtuosas of immediate area of The Philippines and abroad," shared by Jonathan Sowah, CEO and creator of PinoyKubo.

Honolulu, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco have the highest concentration of Filipino/a expatriates among USA cities. The city of Toronto has the highest concentration in Canada. Around 8.6 million to 11 million overseas Filipinos are the estimated count worldwide or about 11% of the total population of the Philippines. (Quotes are from Philippine Overseas Employment Administration 2009, statcan.gc.ca, and and United States Census 2010.) The most global Filipinos are located in these countries from most to less: United States with 3,177,947, Saudi Arabia with 1.159,003, Canada with 639,686 and United Arab Emirates with 609, 704. Others with sizable Filipina/o populations outside The Philippines include Australia, Qatar, Malaysia, Spain, Japan and United Kingdom. (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, 2009 is quoted.) PinoyKubo's community members of its online platform are from all of these countries and about 17 more. A major goal of PinoyKubo Team is to find those who are making a difference in their communities and to showcase them via the "You're an Inspiration and PinoyKubo.com salutes __________."

"We have immensely enjoyed learning from inspirational persons such as thought leader Chock Encabo, caring blogger Carlota Cullarin, and innovative entrepreneur Albert Padin during the most recent podcast interviews. The talks have been entertaining, thought-provoking and educational, plus the referrals have been crowd-sourced through PinoyKubo platform and other social media communities. Chock was referred to us by Mr. Encabo who works for a powerline technology company Marvell, Carlota was discovered via PinoyKubo's Facebook page and Fiverr, and Albert was referred to us by @Saufiane on Twitter. We are looking for more assistance in connecting to inspirational heroes and heroines such as Irene Natividad, the highly-respected and change-making women's rights proponent and Luciana 'Ana' B. Julaton, the first Filipino-American to win women's titles for the IBA Super Bantamweight and the WBO Super Bantamweight. Can readers connect us with them and others who deserve recognition for their examples and accomplishments? Just email us at info@pinoykuboworld.com," shared Suzanne Bowen, VP of business development and marketing at PinoyKubo.

Mike Mesiera, a bright, young PinoyKubo Team Member added, "There are so many different Filipinas and Filipinos on the Inspirational Banners that I have never heard of before. I think we should also put not only individuals but also give credit to groups/organizations that bring also pride and glory to The Philippines. On the other hand, we should limit the number of basketball cagers."

"It's good that we give them the acknowledgement as these people give us Filipinos to be proud of and for the young ones to be familiar with them. People who I think should be there are the Filipinos who excel in their fields and have given pride to our country," answered Katherine Anne Yason, another smart, young PinoyKubo Team member, to the question on her opinion of the Inspirational Hero program.

PinoyKubo is an online community of people, organizations and empowering applications and features that enable collaboration and mutual meeting of social, personal, business, and entertainment goals. The platform includes members who are in The Philippines and in many countries outside the Philippines who are of Filipino descent or who are interested in the culture, doing business with, the Tagalog language and more related to The Philippines.

As Rajani Baburajan, a TMCnet contributor noted in an analysis of PinoyKubo's Launch, "Social media is [even] instrumental in the growth of small businesses today. A TMCnet report published in March talks about the growing popularity of social media among small businesses. The report finds that the most common online marketing techniques currently being used by small businesses are a company Web site (86 percent) followed by social media (44 percent)."
