Group Housing Benefit Plan Now Available to Spring ISD Employees

Houston, TX, October 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The nearly 5,000 employees of Spring Independent School District can now take advantage of benefits offered by the group housing benefits plan provided by National Housing Benefit Alliance (NHBA). The plan offers members significant discounts on real estate services, free financial literacy workshops, home buyer and homeowner education, credit counseling as well as access to down payment and closing cost assistance programs. All Spring ISD employees and their family members are eligible for membership and plan benefits when buying, selling, or leasing a home.

In addition to plan benefits, professional educators and district police officers may be eligible for 30-year fixed low interest rate mortgage loans, down payment and closing cost assistance in the form of a grant through the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC).

NHBA has partnered with First Community Mortgage to assist plan members with finding the right financing program. Those employees who are not eligible for TSAHC programs may get information on FHA, VA, USDA and other homebuying programs.

“Our goal is to educate the workforce while providing them with opportunities for homeownership. By providing employees with financial literacy programs we empower them to take control of their finances in addition to becoming smart homeowners,” say Toni Hogan, NHBA Group Benefits Administrator. Hogan hopes the plan will help avoid some of the problems homeowners have faced in the recent past that have lead to unprecedented foreclosures and the rising need for loan modifications.

As an added benefit, Spring ISD employees may also receive discounts and savings offered by local NHBA Preferred Partners and a national discount program.

National Housing Benefit Alliance assists Employers, Organizations and Associations in the development, implementation and administration of Housing Benefit Plans that focus saving members money and promoting financial literacy.
