Roxann Burns of Heritage Bank of Commerce honored for creating, teaching SBA lending courses.

Stillwater, OK, November 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- During its 27th annual convention in Huntington Beach, CA, over October 25-27, the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) presented Roxann Burns, senior vice president and SBA manager at Heritage Bank of Commerce in San Jose, CA, with its coveted Instructor of the Year award for 2011. Ms. Burns was selected to receive this honor by the association’s education department, led by Jane Butler, who states, “Roxann is an outstanding instructor, very willing to share her time and talents to make NAGGL’s education program outstanding.”

The special award recognizes an individual’s depth of SBA lending knowledge coupled with an ability to share that knowledge in an instructional setting. Ms. Burns has distinguished herself in all efforts for the association. Students describe her as an “excellent instructor”, who does a “fantastic job” particularly in bringing real-life lending experiences to classroom case studies. Ms. Burns was also recognized for revamping an advanced course on the SOP 50 10 - an SBA lender’s core guidance manual on the SBA 7(a) business loan program - which students raved “was the best class ever”. Ms. Burns also regularly participates in conference breakout sessions and panels as a subject matter expert; she serves on the association’s board of directors and technical issues committee.
