Colorado BioScience Association Celebrates 2011 Industry Standouts

The Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) honored the outstanding bioscience companies and individuals in the state during its 9th Annual Awards Dinner at the Downtown Denver Embassy Suites. The CBSA's Annual Awards program showcases the significant achievements in the state's bioscience industry throughout the year.

Denver, CO, December 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) unveiled winners of its 2011 industry awards at its Annual Awards Dinner celebrating Colorado’s vibrant bioscience community. The announcement is made by Holli Reibel, CBSA President and CEO, who says, "Our awards program showcases and honors those individuals and companies making a significant difference to Colorado’s bioscience industry during the past year. Each honoree joins a list of highly respected alums. We are very proud to announce this year's winners and celebrate the successes of our industry.”

The December 8th event, sold out for more than a month, was attended by more than 400 industry and community leaders at the new Downtown Denver Embassy Suites. Emceed by Neil Westergaard, Editor of the Denver Business Journal, the dinner opened with Timothy Schultz, President and Executive Director of the Boettcher Foundation, presenting the 2011 Class of Boettcher Investigators of the Webb/Waring Biomedical Research Program.

"Rick Guidotti, Founder of New York-based Positive Exposure, concluded our program with an incredibly, moving presentation of photographs that promote human dignity for those living with genetic conditions. His photos are currently on display at the Colorado VSA/Access Gallery in Denver's Santa Fe Arts District through December 16th," Riebel says.

Lifetime Achievement Award - Brian, Greg and Jeff Baldwin

Educator of the Year - Melissa Reynolds, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Colorado State University
Melissa Reynolds Ph.D. joined the Colorado State University faculty in 2009 as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and is a participating faculty member in the School of Biomedical Engineering. In addition to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses she has organized professional development and entrepreneurship programs and mentored over 25 multidisciplinary students.
