Dr. Jacqueline Applegate Joins Passage Home Board of Directors

Head of Bayer Environmental Science North America Joins Wake County Nonprofit Fighting Poverty

Research Triangle Park, NC, February 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Bayer CropScience (http://www.bayercropscience.com), one of the world’s top innovative crop science companies in the areas of crop protection, non-agricultural pest control, seeds and traits, has announced that Dr. Jacqueline Applegate, head of Bayer Environmental Science North America, has joined the board of directors for Passage Home, a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering local citizens by giving a hand up, not a hand out. As a board member, Applegate will be responsible for guiding Passage Home in building strong communities and vibrant families through partnership with various corporations, congregations and community organizations that support the fight against poverty and homelessness.

Active in the community, Applegate has served on the Women’s Leadership Council for the Triangle United Way, as well as volunteered with the Girl Scouts of North Carolina Coastal Pines. Prior to joining Bayer Environmental Science North America, she served as the head of Bayer Advanced, the consumer branded division of Bayer CropScience. Applegate earned her Ph.D in chemistry from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
