Python Safety Completes Executive Management Team

Leading provider in Fall Protection for Tools™ safety solutions appoints Mark Caldwell – CEO, William Mathews – President, and Jeff Lake - COO

Woodstock, GA, February 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Python Safety, Inc., the leading provider in Fall Protection for Tools™ safety solutions for the utility and construction industries, today announced the executive management team appointments of Mark Caldwell as the Chief Executive Officer, William Mathews as the President, and Jeff Lake as the Chief Operating Officer. Python Safety is strengthening its foundation and presence in the safety industry with the appointments of these experienced executives.

Mark Caldwell drives Python Safety's strategic vision and direction. He brings more than 25 years of management experience in sales, marketing, and business development to his role as CEO. Prior to Python Safety, mark co-founded Purewire, Inc. in 2007 where he served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Purewire was an award-winning, web gateway provider which was later acquired by Barracuda Networks. Prior to Purewire, Mark served as Regional Vice President at CipherTrust where he helped lead the company from the pre-revenue, pre-product, and pre-customer stage to a profitable, $60M revenue run-rate, cash flow positive organization with offices in 14 countries. CipherTrust was subsequently purchased by Secure Computing Corporation for approximately $300M.

William Mathews has spent the last 25 years in the industrial supply business, gaining valuable insight at various nuclear, solar, fossil, petrochemical, and wind utilities. Billy is the creative genius behind Python Safety's product initiatives, and is heavily involved with strategic planning and corporate direction. Always the evangelist, Billy spends a great deal of time with customers to understand the ongoing challenges in the field. He has an uncanny ability to take real world challenges and develop creative solutions. He founded Python Safety -- formerly known as Powerblock Industrial Supplies from 2001 till 2011 -- to service the utility industry. Prior to Python Safety, Billy held senior sales roles with Dyna Systems and Pitney Bowes.

Jeff Lake is responsible for optimizing Python Safety’s internal operations, including supply chain management, finance, human resources, sales operations, and infrastructure. He has held various operations and management roles over the last 24 years. Most recently, he was the Vice President of Federal Operations for Proofpoint, Inc., a security-as-a-service vendor specializing in data protection solutions. Prior to Proofpoint, he served in a similar role at Fortinet, Inc., a unified threat management vendor, growing the Federal revenues to record levels. Prior to Fortinet, Jeff was a pre-launch employee at CipherTrust, Inc., and spent 6+ years as the Vice President of Field Operations and Federal Operations. Jeff was a commissioned U.S. Army Military Intelligence officer, honorably discharged from the service in 1992 as a Captain.

Over the years, Python Safety has gained strong momentum in the utility sector, protecting workers at more than 70% of the nuclear sites in the United States. As other utility sectors such as petrochemical, wind, solar, and mining exploration have come to realize the inherent danger of dropped objects, Python Safety’s solutions have come to be known as the benchmark standard.

"Studies continue to show that there is a direct correlation between making employees feel valued and reducing job-site accidents," explained Caldwell. "Many organizations are striving to educate their employees on the dangers of dropped objects with awareness campaigns, but fall short of actually employing a strategy for preventing these sorts of accidents. Python Safety believes that, in using the same strategy that we utilize for preventing human beings from falling while working at heights, employers should concentrate on preventing a tool from ever falling in the first place."

Identifying the niche of Fall Protection for Tools™ in the utility and construction sectors has played an important role in driving Python Safety’s overall business growth in recent quarters. Industry regulations exist for the protection of people from the act of falling, but no laws or requirements exist for protecting individuals from dropped objects, the 4th highest source of workplace deaths. Python Safety’s solutions address this major gap.
