Amron International Elected to ADCI Board of Directors

Amron voted onto Board of the Association of Diving Contractors International during Underwater Intervention 2012 in New Orleans.

Vista, CA, March 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Amron International is proud to announce its inclusion as an Associate Member on the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) Board of Directors. Amron International’s membership was approved in a vote held at Underwater Intervention 2012 in New Orleans, La.

Originally founded in 1968, ADCI currently has over 500 member companies that provide services and/or equipment to ensure the safety of divers and diving operations. What started as a U.S.-based group, the Association now consists of companies in 41 countries, which pledge to adhere to the ADCI Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving Operations.

“Amron is very much looking forward to contributing to the decision-making for safety standards in our industry,” said Mike Malone, Sales and Marketing Director, Amron International. “We take commercial diving and safety very seriously, and we will regard our new role as an Associate Board Member with the same level of seriousness because we know that divers’ and operators’ lives are at stake every day.”

Despite not having regulatory jurisdiction, ADCI sets safety standards that are recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard and OSHA as “meeting or exceeding” U.S. Federal Regulations for commercial diving activities. ADCI Certification Cards are recognized worldwide and attest to the training and experience of commercial divers and ROV pilots or technicians.

“I have the privilege of working closely with our Board of Directors and Executive Officers,” said Phil Newsum, ADCI Executive Director. “I am looking forward to the contributions of each board member and am excited by the level of industry expertise represented by this group of individuals. It is the support of membership and the leadership of strong industry contenders such as is represented in our Board of Directors that ensures the success of the commercial diving industry and ADCI in particular.”
