Sally Webb Presents at Premier Conference for Event Professionals

Research Triangle Park, NC, March 14, 2012 --( Sally Webb, CSEP, CEO of The Special Event Company (, a strategic event and meeting management company, has announced that she and the firm recently participated in The Special Event 2012 conference and tradeshow from Jan. 24 to Jan. 27 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla. The show, branded as the premier conference for event professionals in the nation, focused on new ways of conducting business through technological innovations and social media applications.

Webb spoke at three sessions, titled “Managing the Madness: How to Best Serve Your Client’s Objectives, Manage Their Needs and Exceed Their Expectations,” “Keys to Attracting Leads, Clients and Sales” and “Academic Event Professional.” These sessions focused on identifying customer personality types, leveraging vendor relationships, leading event teams, making powerful presentations and sharing ideas with colleagues.

Other educational opportunities available for attendees included lectures and workshops focused on managing budgets, planning political fundraisers, sustainability, food services, wedding trends and more.

- Jim Hooker, associate senior vice president in the University of Southern California Office of Culture Relations and University Events, was the keynote speaker at the “Academic Event Professional” session. Hooker discussed strategies for communicating with potential donors, a topic that is the focus of his recently completed Master’s Thesis.
