Date Announced for Detours and OnRamps Conference

NYC-Metro area date and location announced for groundbreaking conference focusing on the issues women face in pursuing motherhood and a career

Berkeley Heights, NJ, May 24, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Hyatt Regency Jersey City, located across the river from the towers of Manhattan, will host the Detours and OnRamps Forum’s inaugural conference on October 8, 2007. Easily reachable from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, the hotel is known for its breathtaking views and sophisticated ambiance, providing the perfect backdrop for this first-of-its-kind conference focused on bringing clarity and practical solutions to current and future working mothers.

“We’re so pleased to have such a wonderful location for our first conference,” said Kirsten Ly, Forum Co-Founder. “Our attendees are bright, talented, and highly-educated women, and we look forward to creating a high-level, extremely useful, and relevant event!”

The Forum’s founders—this month’s recipients of an Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund Award in commemoration of their efforts to create a better world for all women—are in the process of reaching out to like-minded sponsors and women’s groups to spread the news of the event. Additional conferences are being planned for Washington, DC and Boston in Spring 2008.

About the Conference
The Detours and On Ramps Forum (www.onrampsforum.com) is a one-day conference designed to address the needs and issues of mothers evaluating their decisions to work full time, part time, or from home. Through networking with fellow working mothers, discussions with the companies leading the way in solutions for working mothers, expert panels, and sessions on some of the most common questions working mothers face, the Detours and OnRamps Forum provides an opportunity for women to meet and examine their choices. The conference is designed as a practical resource for working mothers, working women considering motherhood, and mothers taking some time off from a career but planning to re-join the workforce in some form.
Conference co-founder (and working mother) Meghan McCartan said, “In looking for resources and answers, we found a notable lack of solutions on what is clearly a hot topic of discussion. And so the solutions were up to us.”
